Reformatted the entire site, adding textured background of a somewhat more muted color, which is hopefully easier on the eyes. Added an article from the German magazine Bravo to the News & Articles page and fixed a few broken links. Newly discovered photo (above) of Sam looking exhausted following a performance. Added a Billboard magazine advertisement for the single "Oh That's Good, No That's Bad." Also added an entry for the German issue with picture sleeve for the single "Red Hot/A Long Long Way."

Added an mp3 file of the early and rare "How Does A Cheating Woman Feel" to the Lyrics & Sound page. This blues tune appeared as the B-side of Sam's second single, "Haunted House" on the Dingo label in 1964 and was not featured on any other release. You can hear it here for the first time!

February 5-6, 1999

Rearranged the Lyrics & Sound page by removing .wav and .aif files of Wooly Bully and Li'l Red Riding Hood and added four hitherto unavailable selections in MP3 format: the ballad "Betty and Dupree," the bluesy "Man Child," an alternate version of "Wooly Bully," and the 1971 recording of "Me And Bobby McGee."

Redesigned the entire web site, eliminating frames and simplifying  navigation (especially in the discography sections), added many new photos, and made many minor corrections to the text. The entire site is designed using the typeface MS Comic Sans. For optimal effect, this face needs to be installed on the viewer's computer. It is installed by default with MS Internet Explorer. Visitors without this typeface will (alas) see the site in their browser's default font, probably Times New Roman.

Good friend and avid Sam The Sham fan Brian Bukantis of Movie Collectors' World (www.mcwonline.com) recently brought to my attention two hitherto unknown singles from the late 1970's. "The Wookie, parts I and II" , and "Baby You Got It" / "Ain't No Lie" have accordingly been added to the Discography: Singles page.

The long-awaited expanded CD issue of Rhino's 1986 LP, Pharaohization! was released today. Corrected track listing on the Discography: Albums & CDs page to reflect the incorrect song order on the CDs. The list on back of the CD case and that in the accompanying booklet do not match the songs as indexed on the CDs. Still, it is the first time that a Pharaohs CD and most of these songs have been in print in a very long time and it is worth the wait!

Added a 1985 article from Goldmine entitled "Sam The Sham: Wooly Bully Revisited" to the Articles page.

Added the long-awaited expanded CD issue of Rhino's 1986 LP, Pharaohization! to the Discography: Albums & CDs page. Due October 6, this will mark the first time that a Pharaohs CD has been in print in the United States in over a decade!

Added a 1976 "Is Paul Dead?"-like parody entitled "Is Sam The Sham Dead," complete with clues from album covers, to the Articles page.

Added a new 30-Track Hungarian "Best Of" CD entitled "Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs" to the Discography: Albums & CDs page. Sound quality is good and although the label says "Stereo" all tracks appear to be in mono.
